    Áine Boyle was living in Byron Bay in Australia when Ireland entered its first lockdown in March 2020.   Byron is the most easterly point in Australia and the surfing mecca of the world.   As COVID-19 began to spread in Australia and a lockdown there was imminent, she took the last flight out of Brisbane and returned back to her native home in Co Donegal.  She had always intended to go back to college to complete the modules she needed to qualify as a PE teacher.  She enrolled in Letterkenny Institute of Technology and started working as a sea swim coach in her spare time.  But, as time went on, she began thinking about the clean and sustainable living that she experienced in Byron and wondered how to bring some of that experience home.

    “I do a lot of swimming and was getting frustrated with the lack of choice in the Irish swimwear market. My sister had just moved back from Byron Bay in Australia and was raving about the sustainable lifestyle there. We put the different elements together during lock down in January and came up with a new venture called Kahm Sustainable Swimwear. We currently do swimwear for ladies, men and young girls and hope to expand into further categories soon. Our next collection is launching around Halloween".
